Nagareega Komali movie revolves around Komalee Gopi (Jai Shakthi) and his three friends are residents of Madurai where they create and broadcast a 24 hours comedy private TV channel. They shoot the said programmes, act in them and broadcast them, making fun of one and all, having a jolly good time.Kavery (Neethashree) who is a young lady who comes to stay in the opposite house. She is a mature person who is serious about current affairs and wants to find solutions to matters such as charging of usurious interest by private money lenders and so on.She finds it distasteful and puerile that the youngsters Komalee Gopi and gang are wasting their time, busy creating mindless programmes for a meaningless channel. She rebukes them for their childish attitude and asks them to grow up, to use their energies in a more socially responsible manner, to make programmes which can be more topical, informative and useful.Kavery’s rebukes are well received by Komalee Gopi and he starts admiring her and loving her; he decides to fall in with her ideas and change his channel suitably.In a flashback, it is revealed that Kavery is the daughter of a farmer from Thanjavur District. The drought caused his crops to fail, so he decided to commit suicide with his family members. While his wife and son died due to the poison administered, he survived with his daughter Kavery, who became a Pharmacology student and came to Madurai to pursue her education.Aided by Kavery, Gopi and his friends change their channel totally and make it a topical, useful and informative channel which is useful to the viewers and also well appreciated.
