Valimai is a Tamil action thriller movie written and directed by H. Vinoth of ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ fame and produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP. The movie star cast includes Ajith Kumar, Huma Qureshi in the lead roles along with Kartikeya Gummakonda, Pavel Navageethan, Yogi Babu, and Achyuth Kumar. The soundtrack and film score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography handled by Nirav Shah.StoryValimai follows Arjun (played by Ajith), an upright police officer (to be precise Assistant Commissioner) from Madurai who comes to Chennai to solve a crucial case involving a gang of deadly bikers called the Satan’s Slave. Wolfranga (Kartikeya) is the leader of the gang, who runs the notorious business. The gang involved in ruthless theft and murder go berserk as their control over the city expands. The movie becomes a blockbuster hit. In January 2019, during the film’s making, producer Boney Kapoor announced that he would collaborate for the second time, with Ajith Kumar and director Vinoth for another movie.A formal launch ceremony for the film was held on 18 October 2019, at the office of Kapoor’s production house. Most of the movie scenes were shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and Chennai. The film’s shooting was wrapped on 15 February 2021 with a few patches pending.ReleaseInitially, Valimai was scheduled to release on 12 November 2020, coinciding with Diwali. The movie shoot was suspended due to the COVID-19 1st wave and 2nd wave, thus resulting in the delay of its release. The first single track ‘Naanga Vera Maari’ penned by Vignesh Shivan was released on August 2, 2021. The movie trailer was released on Dec 30th, 2021. The movie released on Feb 24, 2022 on theaters.
