Kattuchembakam movie revolves around two friends Sivan (Anoop) and Chandru (Jayasurya) who are part of a hill tribe. Sivan’s sister Chembakam (Charmi) who is engaged to be married to Chandru, while Sivan himself is in love with Chandru’s sister (Karthika). The two friends revolt against middlemen like Rajappan and Ponnappan, who steal the provisions allotted to the tribe by the government and sell it outside. This creates problems for them, but they are saved by the Superintendent of Police Rajendra Varma, who stands by the tribes and sees to it that they get justice.Rajendra Varma (Manoj K Jayan) who loves photographing nature, chooses to stay at the tribal village for a few days, indulging his hobby. When he sees Chembakam, he falls in love with her, and asks Sivan for her hand in marriage. Though shocked at first, Sivan later comes to see this as a very fortunate thing. Naturally, this causes a rift between Chandru and Sivan and what happens later, forms the rest of the story.
